Terms of use

Access

Cresard Desk is provided by invitation. Accounts are created by an administrator of your organisation and there is no public sign-up. Access is personal: do not share a password or let someone else use your account. The audit trail records who did what and shared credentials make that record worthless.

An administrator can suspend or remove an account at any time. If you believe your access was removed in error, speak to that administrator.

What Cresard Desk does and what it does not

Cresard Desk performs arithmetic: totals, taxes, discounts, round-off and amounts in words, according to the rules you supply it with. It does not provide tax, legal or accounting advice and it cannot confirm that a rate, a classification or a place of supply is the right one for your transaction.

A document Cresard Desk produces is a draft until a person checks it. You are responsible for what you issue: check the GSTINs, the tax treatment and the totals before a document reaches a client or a return. This is the reason the product requires an explicit action to move a document from draft to sent.

Your content

The clients, documents and records you create belong to you. You grant us only the permission needed to store and process them so the service works.

You are responsible for having the right to the material you put into a document - logos, seals, signatures and other images - and for not putting into it anything you are not entitled to use.

Acceptable use

Do not use Cresard Desk to issue a document you know to be false, to impersonate someone, to infringe another person’s rights, or to break the law. Do not attempt to gain access to data belonging to another organisation, to probe or overload the service, or to extract other users’ credentials.

Availability

The desktop application is designed to keep working without a network connection for rendering documents. Account features - signing in, sharing records, sending mail - need the network and cannot be used offline.

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, third-party outages and releases may interrupt it.

Software components

Cresard Desk is built on open-source components, each under its own licence. Those licences continue to govern their respective parts and nothing here restricts rights you have under them.

No warranty and the limit of our liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from a document you issued without checking it.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted in the product release notes. Continuing to use Cresard Desk after a change means you accept the updated terms.

How we handle data is described separately in our Privacy page.
